Unit Overview

Description

Archaeology constantly experiments with theory. methods and techniques. This unit examines the latest such experiments. Topics include: conducting experiments such as making stone tools, ceramics, metal and other artefacts. We explore technology such as drones, GPS, aerial mapping, photogrammetry, 3D printing and more. Visiting experts may hold intensive workshops on topical issues such as heritage management, gender, designing ethical, OHS and other fieldwork protocols, or creating an archaeological outreach programme. This unit never teaches the same content twice and constantly evolves with Archaeology as a discipline—and maybe even help lead the (re)volution.
