Unit Overview

Description

Each year, there are upward of 500 new start-ups that are trying to serve consumers in high performance sport, exercise, media and health. In this unit, students will delve into this world of start-ups as they prepare for an industry that expects its professionals to regularly appraise and leverage start-ups in solving their real world problems. Start-ups seek validation and traction from industry, all the while wanting to move fast. To best manage this interplay, students will gain an appreciation of the trends in the ever-changing sport and human performance venture marketplace. They will also learn how to assess emerging technologies through an industry lens, develop product pitches and apply venture concepts to the business of human performance
