Unit Overview

Description

This unit represents the research component of the Master of Aboriginal Health and requires students to implement the research project proposal developed in AHEA5801 Aboriginal Health Research and Ethics. Students undertake an appropriate research project based on their individual settings and connections with Aboriginal communities. Students need to build the community relationships necessary for their projects as part of this unit, with both clinical and cultural supervision to guide them. The unit extends over three semesters allowing adequate time for project refinement, community liaison, data collection and analysis, final synthesis and translation of findings. Supervisors ensure projects contribute new knowledge to the field and that they are meaningful to the setting in which the projects occur.
