BIOL5596 Special unit: Research Mini-Project

Content The student will perform bench research alongside PhD students and postdoctoral scientists. The student will be allocated a small and achievable project and will be required to do appropriate background reading. At the bench the student will acquire technical skills from co-workers and the lab head.
Outcomes Students are able to (1) perform bench research capably; (2) present their research in a lucid and professional fashion; and (3) prepare a research manuscript.
Assessment Typically this unit is assessed in the following ways: (1) end of placement research seminar; and (2) research report in style of research manuscript. Further information is available in the unit outline.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit.
