Content This unit introduces students to the conceptual framework and practice associated with marketing in the international environment. Special environmental and organisational factors as well as marketing policies and strategies pertaining to international marketing are covered. The unit also looks at import and export procedures and how to assess foreign markets.
Outcomes Students are able to (1) critically analyse marketing decisions for entry and expansion in target markets; (2) apply acquired skills in information and cultural literacy to marketing in international context; (3) incorporate awareness of ethical, cultural, social and sustainability issues into international marketing contexts; and (4) develop an effective international marketing plan that is coherently communicated in verbal and written formats.
Assessment Typically this unit is assessed in the following ways: (1) group assignment; (2) tutorial participation; (3) mid-semester examination; and (4) final examination. Further information is available in the unit outline.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 overall and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course.

Prerequisites: any two Level 2 Marketing units; for pre-2012 courses: MKTG2203 Marketing Management (or equivalent), or MKTG2204 Consumer Behaviour (or equivalent)
