Content This is an intermediate to advanced unit designed principally for students specialising in health promotion and disease prevention. Students taking this unit spend a major part of their time on secondment to an outside agency involved in health promotion. They are expected to obtain first hand experience of the practical aspects of health promotion by becoming actively involved in the activities of their host agency in the context of the relevant scientific literature.
Outcomes Students gain first-hand health promotion experience, as well as an appreciation of the theory of health promotion as it is applied in the field.

Prerequisites: PUBH5754 Health Promotion I (formerly PUBH8754 Health Promotion I); or equivalent
