Honours Overview

Description

Honours in Work and Employment Relations provides you with research training in Employment Relations at an international standard. You will have the skills needed to plan and conduct research to investigate problems in these areas in organisations. You will be able to apply a number of current advanced methods for research and analysis, and will develop your knowledge and skills further. You will have the capacity to enter an organisation as a capable and knowledgeable graduate entrant. You will also be ready to enter a postgraduate research degree in the area of Employment Relations, such as the PhD, and will be well prepared by the strong foundation of research skills acquired in undertaking honours.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) demonstrate coherent and advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts in work and employment relations; (2) demonstrate knowledge of research principles and methods; (3) apply advanced work and employment relations knowledge to solve complex problems; and (4) communicate effectively and succinctly the results of work and employment relations research.

Entry requirements

The equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 75 per cent in the Level 3 units in the Work and Employment Relations major.
