UWA's admission requirements for some postgraduate courses have changed for Semester 2, 2020 to facilitate student access to study during the COVID-19 situation. In many cases, these changes may not be extended beyond 2020. Contact Future Students for more information.

Higher Degree by Research Preliminary (Arts)

The Higher Degree by Research Preliminary (HDR Prelim) course is made up of an honours-level program of study. This can be varied depending on a student's existing knowledge and what they require to adequately prepare for entry to a higher degree by research. Students will normally have completed the equivalent of a major sequence in the relevant discipline(s) before being admitted to the course. Individual programs of study are designed for each student including research methods and the preparation of a dissertation. The HDR Preliminary is not a stand-alone qualification.
