Minor Overview
- About this minor
- The minor in Film Studies will provide undergraduate students with in-depth knowledge about the history, culture, aesthetic, economic, and political aspects of film as a meaning-making and story-telling medium that intersects with other media (eg. literature and music). For students taking a minor which shares units with their other unit sets (majors or minors): in order for minors to be recognised on academic and graduation documents, students may only have a maximum of one unit overlapping between their unit sets.
- Outcomes
- Students are able to (1) Investigate a wide range of Hollywood and international filmic texts in a variety of historical, artistic and cultural contexts; (2) Develop and apply knowledge of significant genres, theories and directors; (3) Create, evaluate and apply film studies research; and (4) Exercise and express critical reasoning in written and oral forms.
