Honours Overview

Description

Students undertaking this B.Ec (Financial Economics) Honours degree study advanced-level macroeconomic theory and econometrics, review high-level research literature concerning financial economics and its various applications, undertake advanced data analysis and modelling in applied and theoretical economic research, and prepare a dissertation in the area of financial economics. Successful completion of the degree demonstrates competence in interpreting frontier research and applying advanced data analysis techniques in financial economics.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) identify gaps in the research literature on financial economics.; (2) apply advanced data analysis and econometric techniques to critically evaluate theoretical and/or financial economics issues at a professional level.; and (3) communicate effectively and succinctly the findings and economic policy outcomes from research analyses in financial economics..

Entry requirements

The equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 75 per cent in the Level 3 core economic (ECON) units in the B.Ec degree.
