Honours in Marketing
An Honours in Marketing allows students to complete a major research-based enquiry project focusing on a specialised topic within the Marketing discipline. The research project is designed for students to do an in-depth analysis of an area of study that they are curious about and interested to pursue. Students build high-level research, literacy, critical thinking/questioning and communication skills. These skills position students to either continue with higher research degrees (e.g. PhD/DBA) or join consulting companies requiring research skills or graduate recruitment programs. Students graduating with an honours degree will be well positioned to benefit from any opportunities that arise within the job market.
Outcomes: Students are able to (1) demonstrate coherent and advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts in marketing; (2) demonstrate knowledge of research principles and methods; (3) apply advanced marketing knowledge to solve complex problems; and (4) communicate effectively and succinctly the results of marketing research.
Entry requirements: the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 75 per cent in the Level 3 units in the Marketing major.
Intake periods: Beginning of year only
