Description

This unit focuses upon complex landscape architecture projects that challenge contemporary issues facing professionals working in the built environment. Students are asked to develop design approaches and built forms that are speculative and experimental and which encompass contemporary theoretical practices.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) demonstrate critical analysis landscape architecture and other relevant precedents ; (2) demonstrate critical analysis of a site's social, cultural and ecological contexts through site analysis at multiple scales; (3) demonstrate a considered understanding of contemporary theoretical and environmental issues facing the profession of landscape architecture; (4) utilise speculation, iteration and reflection to develop of site-specific design solutions at a high level of resolution; (5) communicate professionally through presentation images and/or models that represent a high quality and professional standard to aid in the understanding of the proposed landscape architectural design concept; and (6) demonstrate interpersonal skills through participation in class discussions and verbal/jury presentations.

Assessment

Indicative assessments in this unit are as follows: (1) interim folio submission and (2) final folio submission. Further information is available in the unit outline.
