Description

BMED4003 Thesis Part 1 (semester 1, 6 points) and BMED4006 Thesis Part 2 (semester 2, 18 points) are paired thesis units that must be completed to fulfil the requirements of Medical Research Honours (HON-BIOMS). Research training and activity commences in semester 1 and continues until end of semester 2. The preparation and submission of the thesis are the culmination of a year-long project of original research within biomedical sciences.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) write and compile a scientific research thesis consisting of a body of original work appropriately supported, referenced, presented, analysed and discussed; (2) demonstrate familiarity with a range of research approaches and methodologies pertinent to the research topic; (3) analyse and present scientific data and findings to a high standard; and (4) interpret, critically appraise and communicate their own findings and those of others in the research field.
