Unit Overview

Description

This unit is designed for students who have completed a major in French Studies, German Studies or Italian Studies. It explores aspects of French, German or Italian culture and society. The unit extends students' competence in reading, writing and speaking the target language and advances their proficiency to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) analyse a variety of complex texts or films in the target language and evaluate their cultural, historical and social context; (2) demonstrate advanced oral communication skills in the target language; and (3) demonstrate advanced written communication skills in the target language.

Assessment

Indicative assessments in this unit are as follows: (1) seminar participation; (2) written assignments; and (3) oral tasks. Further information is available in the unit outline.



Student may be offered supplementary assessment in this unit if they meet the eligibility criteria.
