Unit Overview

Description

This Postgraduate Unit aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between financial management, corporate accountability, reporting and environmental and social responsibility. In an era where global challenges such as climate change, social inequality, and resource depletion are becoming increasingly evident, the role of finance and accounting in promoting sustainability has never been more critical.

As part of the CFA Institute's University Affiliation Program, this unit covers some of the essential topics of the CFA Institute's Certificate in ESG Investing. Throughout this unit, students will explore the evolving landscape of sustainable finance and reporting, examining how financial decisions can be aligned with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations.

By delving into real-world case studies, regulatory frameworks, and innovative financial instruments, participants will develop the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of sustainable finance and reporting, contributing to a more equitable and environmentally conscious global economy. Get ready to embark on a journey that not only explores the principles of financial stewardship but also emphasizes the vital role finance and accounting professionals play in shaping a sustainable and socially responsible future.
