Unit Overview

Description

Patient reported measures (PRMs) include both patient reported experience measures (PREMs) and patient reported outcome measures (PROMs). These tools are used to capture information directly from patients to understand their health status, treatment outcomes and health related experiences through the use of validated questionnaires. PROMs assess health status and well being and can be used both to inform diagnoses and monitor changes in health and well being over time. PREMs provide a tool to measure the person's experience of healthcare services.

This unit will provide students with the opportunity to understand when and how to use PRMs in practice, the populations that they're validated in and how to interpret the outcomes.
