Applicability of the Student Rules, policies and procedures

1.(1) The Student Rules apply to students in this course.

(2) The policy, policy statements and guidance documents and student procedures apply, except as otherwise indicated in the rules for this course.

Academic Conduct Essentials and Communication and Research Skills modules

2.(1) Except as stated in (2), a student who enrols in this course for the first time irrespective of whether they have previously been enrolled in another course of the University, must undertake the Academic Conduct Essentials module (the ACE module) and the Communication and Research Skills module (the CARS module).

(2) A student who has previously achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) for the CARS module is not required to repeat the module.

(3) A student must successfully complete the ACE module within the first teaching period of their enrolment. Failure to complete the module within this timeframe will result in the student's unit results from this teaching period being withheld. These results will continue to be withheld until students avail themselves of a subsequent opportunity to achieve a passing grade in the ACE module. In the event that students complete units in subsequent teaching periods without completing the ACE module, these results will similarly be withheld. Students will not be permitted to submit late review or appeal applications regarding results which have been withheld for this reason and which they were unable to access in the normally permitted review period.

7.(1) The course consists of units to a total value of 24 points.

(2) Units must be selected in accordance with the course structure, as set out in these rules.

Satisfactory progress

8. To make satisfactory progress a student must pass units to a point value greater than half the total value of units in which they remain enrolled after the final date for withdrawal without academic penalty.

9. A student who has not achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) for the Communication and Research Skills module (the CARS module) when their progress status is assessed will not have made satisfactory progress even if they have met the other requirements for satisfactory progress in Rule 8.

Progress status

10.(1) A student who makes satisfactory progress in terms of Rule 8 is assigned the status of 'Good Standing'.

(2) Unless the relevant board determines otherwise because of exceptional circumstances—

(a) a student who does not make satisfactory progress for the first time under Rule 8 is assigned a progress status of 'On Probation';

(b) a student who does not make satisfactory progress for the second time under Rule 8 is assigned a progress status of 'Suspended';

Eligibility to apply for Graduate Certificate in Social Work

14. Students who withdraw from the course before qualifying for the degree but after satisfying the requirements of an articulated graduate certificate may apply to the Faculty to be awarded the relevant certificate.

Time limit

14. The time limit is three years from the date of first enrolment in the course.

15. A student must enrol in at least one unit in each semester unless the Faculty permits otherwise in recognition of exceptional circumstances.

Credit

16.(1) If credit is granted for work completed through Continuing Education, its value will not exceed 12 points.

Leave and retention of credit

15.(1) Students may apply for a period of leave in accordance with the University Policy on Approved Leave.

(2) Following a period of approved leave of less than two years, students retain credit for all units previously passed.

(3) Following a period of leave of two year or more, full credit is unable to be granted and students must repeat the units comprising the most recently completed year of the course.

2.(1) Except as stated in (2), a student who enrols in this course for the first time irrespective of whether they have previously been enrolled in another course of the University, must undertake the Academic Conduct Essentials module (the ACE module) and the Communication and Research Skills module (the CARS module).

(2) A student who has previously achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) for the CARS module is not required to repeat the module.

(3) A student must successfully complete the ACE module within the first teaching period of their enrolment. Failure to complete the module within this timeframe will result in the student's unit results from this teaching period being withheld. These results will continue to be withheld until students avail themselves of a subsequent opportunity to achieve a passing grade in the ACE module. In the event that students complete units in subsequent teaching periods without completing the ACE module, these results will similarly be withheld. Students will not be permitted to submit late review or appeal applications regarding results which have been withheld for this reason and which they were unable to access in the normally permitted review period.

English Language competency requirements

3.(1) To be considered eligible for consideration for admission to this course an applicant must satisfy the University's English language competence requirement as set out in the University Policy on Admission: Coursework, except as otherwise indicated in the rules for this course.

(2) Applicants with qualifications from overseas institutions where English is not the medium of instruction as recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), must provide evidence of English language competence. and

(3) Applicants presenting with the IELTS Academic require an overall score of at least 7.0 and no band less than 7.0 at time of application.

4.(1) To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—

(a) a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;

(b) a selection Weighted Average Mark (sWAM) of at least 65 per cent;

(2) a current Australian National Police Certificate, or equivalent certification, indicating no criminal convictions. The currency of a National Police Certificate is 12 months.

(a) a structured interview in which eligible applicants will be assessed based on the personal qualities considered desirable in allied health practitioners;

Course structure

7.(1) The course consists of units to a total value of 96 points.

(2) Units must be selected in accordance with the course structure, as set out in these rules.

Satisfactory progress

8. To make satisfactory progress a student must pass units to a point value greater than half the total value of units in which they remain enrolled after the final date for withdrawal without academic penalty.

9. A student who has not achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) for the Communication and Research Skills module (the CARS module) when their progress status is assessed will not have made satisfactory progress even if they have met the other requirements for satisfactory progress in Rule 8.

Progress status

10.(1) Students who fail to make satisfactory progress under Rule 8 after being enrolled at the University for one or two semesters only are assigned a progress status of 'On Probation' by the School of Allied Health.

(2) Unless the Faculty determines otherwise in exceptional circumstances, students who fail to make satisfactory progress under Rule 8 and who have been enrolled at the University for more than two semesters are assigned a progress status of 'Suspended' by the School of Allied Health.

(3) Unless the Faculty determines otherwise in exceptional circumstances, students who have previously been allocated a progress status of 'Suspended' and fail again to make satisfactory progress under Rule 8 are assigned a progress status of 'Excluded' by the School of Allied Health.

11. A student who does not make satisfactory progress in terms of Rule 9 is assigned the progress status of 'On Probation', unless they have been assigned a progress status of 'Suspended' or 'Excluded' for failure to meet other satisfactory progress requirements in Rule 8.

Award with distinction

12. To be awarded the degree with distinction a student must achieve a course weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 80 per cent which is calculated based on—

(a) all units above Level 3 attempted as part of the course that are awarded a final percentage mark;

(b) all relevant units above Level 3 undertaken in articulating courses of this University that are awarded a final percentage mark;

and

(c) all units above Level 3 completed at this University that are credited to the master's degree course.

Deferrals

13. Applicants awarded admission to the course are entitled to a deferral of up to 12 months, as per the University Policy on: Admissions (Coursework).

Additional rules

Time limit

14.(1) Unless the School of Allied Health approves an extension, the time limit is five years from the beginning of the semester in which the first unit is credited towards the course.

(2) Where a student is permitted to credit a unit or units from a completed degree course, the credit dates from the year of first enrolment in the course for the degree of Master of Social Work.

(3) Where a student is permitted to credit a unit or units from an incomplete degree course, the credit dates from the year in which the unit or units concerned were passed.

Enrolment in practicum units

15. Unless the School of Allied Health, in recognition of exceptional circumstances approves otherwise, students must undertake both practicums on a full-time basis even if a student elects to enrol in the course part-time.

Withdrawal from practicum units

16. A student who withdraws from a practicum unit after confirmation of placement with the host organisation is declared to have failed the unit unless the School of Allied Health is satisfied that there were exceptional circumstances to justify withdrawal.

Failure of practicum units

17. The School of Allied Health will consider the case of a student who fails a practicum unit and will—

(a) permit the student to repeat the practicum;

or

(b) permit the student to repeat the practicum following satisfactory prior completion of specified additional relevant work;

(c) exclude the student from re-enrolment in the course.

Faculty Infection Control Requirements

18. At admission and during enrolment, students must comply with the School of Allied Health Infection Control Requirements, appended to the relevant UWA Admission and Student Enrolment policies.

Professional Behaviour

19. Breaches of Professional Behaviour will be managed according to the Procedures appended to the UWA Courses: Experiential Learning Policy

Requirement to attend

20.(1) Students must maintain a minimum attendance rate of at least 80% at lecture/seminars, integration groups and other forms of interactive/small group teaching and learning.

(2) If a student fails to maintain an attendance rate of at least 80% they shall be taken to have not satisfied the requirements of the unit, unless absences are formally approved in writing by applying for Special Consideration.

Supplementary assessment

14.(1) Subject to (2), a student who fails a barrier component of a unit may be granted a supplementary assessment in that component.

(2) The Board of Examiners will not provide an opportunity for supplementary assessment to a student who—

(a) fails two or more units in any calendar year;

or

(b) fails a deferred or supplementary assessment.

Requirements of students on probation

15. Students who have been assigned a progress status of 'On Probation' must repeat all units that they have previously attempted in that year of the course, in which they have a mark of less than 60 per cent.

Approved Leave and retention of credit

16.(1) Students may apply for a period of approved leave in accordance with the University Policy on Student Enrolment.

(2) Following a period of approved leave of less than two years, students retain credit for all units previously passed.

(3) Following a period of approved leave of two years or more, full credit is unable to be granted and students must repeat the units comprising the most recently completed year of the course.

Requirement to attend and complete prescribed work

17.(1) Students must attend compulsory teaching and undertake practical and clinical work at the University, and other institutions as approved by the School.

(2) Students must abide by the School's Professional Behaviour Procedures set in out in the Workplace-based placements.

(3) Providing approval is granted, a student is permitted to take a maximum of 10 University days annually as leave. Leave can include compassionate leave, medical leave, personal/other leave.

(4) Leave is administered and managed as outlined in the UWA Optometry Student Orientation Handbook.

School's Infection Control Requirements

18. At admission and during their enrollment, students must comply with the School's Infection Control Requirements as appended to the UWA Policies on Admission and Student Enrolment.

First Aid Course Requirements

19. At the time of enrolment students must show first aid competence equivalent to assessment requirements for HLTAID001,

valid for no more than three years.

Mode of Study

20.(1) Students must enrol on a full-time basis unless the School permits otherwise in exceptional circumstances.

(2) Students who have been permitted to enrol on a part-time basis in units of one level will not be permitted to enrol on a part-time basis in units of the next level.

Australian National Police Clearance

21. At admission and annually during enrolment, students must provide a clear current Australian National Police Clearance or equivalent certification.

Credit Transfer

22. Students who

(1) have completed a bachelor's degree in Vision Science or equivalent as recognised by UWA;

and

(2) have completed the UWA Doctor of Optometry Bridging Program;

may apply for credit of prior learning up to a value of 48 points for relevant units in year 1 of the Doctor of Optometry Course.

Commonwealth Supported Place transfer

23.(1) Students enrolled in a Full-Fee Paying place may apply to transfer to a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) at the end of each academic year if places become available.

(2) Students must demonstrate financial need to be eligible.

(3) Students must be in good standing and completed a minimum of 48 points credit to be eligible.

(4) Students will be awarded a CSP based on their course WAM, until all CSP places are filled.

24. A limited number of commonwealth supported places are available at the point of admission. Places are awarded on the following basis:

(4) Students who are absent for more than 5% of their total clinical sessions, or 10 clincial sessions, whichever applies in an academic year, will be required to make-up/replace any further clinical session missed during the remainder of the year.

Entry from the Medical Sciences Major at the University of Western Australia

18. Subject to completing other admission requirements, in recognition of prior learning, students who have satisfactorily completed the Medical Sciences Major (MJD-MEDSC or MJS-MEDSC) may be granted up to 48 points credit towards year 1 of the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine

Advanced Standing

19. The Faculty may grant advanced standing for previously completed Podiatry units, if they were completed as part of a postgraduate Podiatry course recognised by the Faculty as equivalent to the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine of this University.

(4) Unless it determines otherwise in light of exceptional circumstances, the School of Allied Health, on the recommendation of the Board of Examiners, will assign a progress status of 'Excluded' to a student who—

(a) fails to make satisfactory progress under Rule 8 and has previously repeated two years of the course; or

(b) fails to make satisfactory progress under Rule 8 in the same year of the course for a second time.

(5) A student who is assigned a progress status of 'Excluded' under (3) (a) or (b) will not be permitted to re-enrol in the course.

11. A student who does not make satisfactory progress in terms of Rule 9 is assigned the progress status of 'On Probation', unless they have been assigned a progress status of 'Suspended' or 'Excluded' for failure to meet other satisfactory progress requirements in Rule 8.

12. To be awarded the degree with distinction a student must achieve a course weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 80 per cent which is calculated based on—

(a) all units above Level 3 attempted as part of the course that are awarded a final percentage mark;

(b) all relevant units above Level 3 undertaken in articulating courses of this University that are awarded a final percentage mark;

and

(c) all units above Level 3 completed at this University that are credited to the master's degree course.

Deferrals

13. Applicants are not permitted to defer admission to this course and are expected to commence their course in the offered intake only. Approved leave is not available during the first academic year of this course. Applicants seeking admission to an alternative intake must submit a new application for that intake.

Additional rules

Supplementary assessment

14.(1) Subject to (2) the Board of Examiners will provide an opportunity for supplementary assessment to a student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 inclusive in a unit.

(2) The Board of Examiners will not provide an opportunity for supplementary assessment to a student who—

(a) failed more than two units in any calendar year;

or

(b) failed a deferred examination;

or

(c) has been assigned a progress status of 'on probation'.

Requirements of students on probation

15.(1) Students who have been assigned a progress status of ‘On Probation' must repeat all units that they have previously attempted in that year of the course.

Leave and retention of credit

16.(1) Students may apply for a period of approved leave in accordance with University Policy.

(2) Following a period of approved leave of less than two years, students retain credit for all units previously passed.

(3) Following a period of approved leave of two years or more, full credit is unable to be retained and students must repeat the units comprising the most recently completed year of the course.

Requirements to attend and complete prescribed work

17.(1) Students must attend compulsory teaching and undertake practical and clinical work at the University Podiatry Clinic, and other institutions as approved by the School of Allied health.

(2) Providing approval is granted, a student is permitted to take a maximum of 10 University days annually as leave. Leave can include compassionate leave, medical leave, personal/other leave.

(3) Leave is administered and managed as outlined in the UWA Division of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Student Handbook.

(4) Students who are absent for more than 5% of their total clinical sessions, or 10 clinical sessions, whichever applies in an academic year, will be required to make-up/replace any further clinical session missed during the remainder of the year.

Entry from the Podiatric Health and Medical Sciences Major at the University of Western Australia

18. Subject to completing other admission requirements, in recognition of prior learning, students who have satisfactorily completed the Podiatric Health and Medical Sciences Major (MJD-PHMSC) may be granted up to 48 points credit towards year 1 of the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

Advanced Standing

19. The School of Allied Health may grant advanced standing, credit or recognised prior learning for previously completed Podiatry units, if they were completed as part of a postgraduate Podiatry course as per university policy on credit transfer, advanced standing and/or recognised prior learning.

Infection Control Requirements

20. At admission and during their enrolment, students must comply with the School of Allied Health's Infection Control Requirements as appended to the UWA Policies on Admission and Student Enrolment.

First Aid Course Requirements

21. At the time of enrolment students must show first aid with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) competence equivalent to assessment requirements for HLTAID003, valid for no more than three years.

Australian National Police Clearance

22. At admission and annually during enrolment, students must provide a clear current Australian National Police Clearance or equivalent certification.

Incidental Fees

23.

(a) Students may incur incidental fees for travel and accommodation costs for certain rural and remote placement destinations as a part of the experiential learning component of this course.

(a) a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine, or an equivalent qualification as recognised by UWA, which includes an approved qualification in Podiatric Therapuetics with a recency of 7 years (see course website and guidebook for more information on this particular qualification);

(b) minimum GPA of 5.0 or equivalent;

and

(c) unrestricted current registration as a podiatrist in Australia 1;

and

(d) One referee report from either a podiatric surgeon or orthopaedic/vascular surgeon;

(e) at least two years of relevant professional experience outlined in a written work portfolio.

(c) personal statement addressing; motivation to become a specialist podiatric surgeon; years of clinical experience and training and understanding of the role of podiatric surgeons in Australian and global health care systems;

Prerequisites

19.(1) Students must complete all prerequisite requirements of all units in Group A (core units).

(2) In order to progress to Group B Units, students must complete all units in Group A (core units in Doctor of Podiatric Surgery 91830).

(3) Students must complete all prerequisite requirements of all units in Group B (surgical practicum units).

(4) Students must complete all prerequisite requirements of all units in Group C (research units).

(5) Unless the School of Allied Health permits otherwise, students are not permitted to proceed to units of a higher level until they have completed all units of the previous level.

20. The School of Allied Health may grant credit transfer, advanced standing and recognition of prior learning as per University Policy on: Credit Transfer, advanced standing and recognition of prior learning

a) fails two or more units in any calendar year; or

c) has a progress status of “On Probation.”; or

d) the unit does not allow a supplementary assessment

23.(1) Surgical stream: Subject to (2), students who have been assigned a progress status of “On Probation” due to unsatisfactory progress in Group A or Group B units must repeat all Group A or Group B units that they have taken in that year. Group C units will not be repeated unless also failed. Research stream will continue as per sequence if Group C units for that year are successfully completed.

(a) PODI6531 is considered a Year 3 unit

(b) PODI6534 is considered a Year 4 unit

(c) PODI6541 is considered a Year 5 unit

(2) Students are exempt from the requirement to complete one or more of the following units if they have a mark of at least 70 percent in the unit(s) concerned:

(2) A student who has previously achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) for the CARS module is not required to repeat the module.

(3) A student must successfully complete the ACE module within the first teaching period of their enrolment. Failure to complete the module within this timeframe will result in the student's unit results from this teaching period being withheld. These results will continue to be withheld until students avail themselves of a subsequent opportunity to achieve a passing grade in the ACE module. In the event that students complete units in subsequent teaching periods without completing the ACE module, these results will similarly be withheld. Students will not be permitted to submit late review or appeal applications regarding results which have been withheld for this reason and which they were unable to access in the normally permitted review period.

4. To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—

(a) (i) the degree of Bachelor of Social Work of this University with first or upper second class honours, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty; or

(ii) the degree of Master of Social Work (by coursework and dissertation) of this University with Distinction or High Distinction, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty; or

(iii) the Graduate Diploma in Advanced Social Work of this University with a weighted average mark of at least 70 per cent, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty; or

(iv) the degree of Master of Advanced Social Work of this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty; or

(v) the degree of Master of Arts (Social Work) of this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty;

and

(b) the equivalent of at least two years' full-time post-qualified professional practice experience.

5. Where relevant, admission will be awarded to the highest ranked applicants or applicants selected based on the relevant requirements.

6. This course does not form part of an articulated sequence.

Course structure

7.(1) The course consists of units to a total value of 144 points.

(2) Units must be selected in accordance with the course structure, as set out in these rules.

Satisfactory progress

8. To make satisfactory progress a student must pass units to a point value greater than half the total value of units in which they remain enrolled after the final date for withdrawal without academic penalty.

9. A student who has not achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) for the Communication and Research Skills module (the CARS module) when their progress status is assessed will not have made satisfactory progress even if they have met the other requirements for satisfactory progress in Rule 8.

Progress status

10.(1) A student who makes satisfactory progress in terms of Rule 8 is assigned the status of 'Good Standing'.

(2) Unless the relevant board determines otherwise because of exceptional circumstances—

(a) a student who does not make satisfactory progress for the first time under Rule 8 is assigned a progress status of 'On Probation';

(b) a student who does not make satisfactory progress for the second time under Rule 8 is assigned a progress status of 'Suspended';

(c) a student who does not make satisfactory progress for the third time under Rule 8 is assigned a progress status of 'Excluded'.

11. A student who does not make satisfactory progress in terms of Rule 9 is assigned the progress status of 'On Probation', unless they have been assigned a progress status of 'Suspended' or 'Excluded' for failure to meet other satisfactory progress requirements in Rule 8.

Award with distinction

12. To be awarded the degree with distinction a student must achieve a course weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 80 per cent, which is calculated based on —

(a) all units above Level 3 attempted as part of the course that are awarded a final percentage mark;

(b) all relevant units above Level 3 undertaken in articulating courses of this University that are awarded a final percentage mark;

and

(c) all units above Level 3 completed at this University that are credited to the master's degree course.

Deferrals

13. Applicants awarded admission to the course are entitled to a deferral of up to 12 months, as per the University Policy on: Admissions (Coursework).

Additional rules

Progression

14. Unless the Faculty approves otherwise, a student is not permitted to proceed to the Doctor of Social Work Thesis until they have completed all coursework units.

Doctoral thesis

15.(1) A student must provide a 2500-word research proposal to the supervisor(s) at the time of enrolling for the doctoral thesis.

(2) The doctoral thesis must be up to 70,000 words in length excluding tables, footnotes, endnotes and appendices.

(3) A student who has enrolled in the doctoral thesis must provide a progress report to the supervisor(s) no later than 15 October each year.

Time limit

16. The time limit is six years from the date of first enrolment in the course.

Academic Conduct Essentials module

4.(1) Except as stated in (2), a student who enrols in an undergraduate degree course of the University for the first time irrespective of whether they have previously been enrolled in another course of the University, must undertake the Academic Conduct Essentials module (the ACE module), Communication and Research Skills (the CARS module) and Indigenous Studies Essentials (the ISE module) in the teaching period in which they are first enrolled.

(2) Applicants presenting with IELTS require a score of 7.0 with no individual band less than 7.0, or equivalent, is required.

(3) Applicants presenting with iBT require a score of 94 overall with 27 for writing, 23 for speaking, and 24 for reading and listening.

(4) Applicants presenting with PTE: require a score of 70 with nothing below 70.

(a) achieved an ATAR of at least 75, or equivalent as recognised by UWA; and meet the additional requirements stated at (2) below

Transfer Requirements

8.(1) A student enrolled in an undergraduate degree course at UWA may apply to transfer into this course if they satisfy the following conditions:

(a) the student has not commenced their final semester of enrolment;

and

(b) the course transfer is undertaken within the specified transfer windows in each academic year;

and

(c) there are no quotas preventing the student from enrolling in a major or unit in which the student seeks to enrol; and
(2) the student has completed a minimum of 24 points of study in their current course and achieved a WAM of at least 60

and

(1) A student enrolled in an undergraduate degree course at UWA may apply to transfer into this course if they satisfy the following conditions:

(a) the student has not commenced their final semester of enrolment;

and

(b) the course transfer is undertaken within the specified transfer windows in each academic year;

and

(c) there are no quotas preventing the student from enrolling in a major or unit in which the student seeks to enrol; and the proposed transfer WAM threshold.

Course structure

9.(1) An integrated Honours Degree Course consists of 192 credit points (normally 32 units), comprising:

(a) 144 credit points (normally 24 units) of an undergraduate component, including:

(i) no more than 72 credit points (normally 12 units) at Level 1; and

(ii) at least 72 credit points (normally 12 units) at Level 2 and Level 3, including at least 18 credit points (normally 3 units) at Level 3; and

(iii) at least 24 credit points (normally 4 units) outside the student's degree-specific major to provide breadth of study; and

(iv) a degree-specific major chosen from the list below:

MJD-SOCWK

and

(v) any relevant foundation units.

and

(b) 48 credit points (normally 8 units) of an Honours component, including:

(i) at least 36 credit points (normally 6 units) at Level 4 and Level 5; and

(ii) at least 12 credit points (normally 2 units) of Dissertation or equivalent units at Level 4 and/or Level 5; and

(iii) at least 12 credit points (normally 2 units) of the 48 credit points are undertaken at Level 4.

(2) Students may choose to undertake an additional major and/or up to two minors from any undergraduate degree, provided the student will be able to complete all nominated majors and minors within 192 credit points.

(1) A student enrolled in an undergraduate degree course at UWA may apply to transfer into this course if they satisfy the following conditions:

(a) the student has not commenced their final semester of enrolment;

and

(b) the course transfer is undertaken within the specified transfer windows in each academic year;

and

(c) there are no quotas preventing the student from enrolling in a major or unit in which the student seeks to enrol; and the proposed transfer WAM threshold.

Satisfactory progress

10.(1) To make satisfactory progress a student must pass units to a point value greater than half the total value of units in which they remain enrolled after the final date for withdrawal without academic penalty.

(2) This rule is intentionally blank.

(3) A student who has not achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) in any one or more of the CARS module or the ISE module when their progress status is assessed will not have made satisfactory progress.

(4) A student who fails a unit twice is not permitted to enrol again in that unit unless the relevant board approves otherwise.

(1) To make satisfactory progress a student must pass all units in which they remain enrolled after the final date for withdrawal without academic penalty.

(2) For the dissertation component of the honours degree course the relevant board determines whether satisfactory progress has been made having regard to the report of the student's supervisor.

(3) A student who has not achieved a result of Ungraded Pass (UP) in one or more of the ACE module, the CARS module or the ISE module when their progress status is assessed will not have made satisfactory progress.
