            Applicability of the Student Rules, policies and procedures

            8.2.5.1(1) The Student Rules in the Student Procedures, Rules and Policies section apply to students in this course.

            (2) The policies and procedures in the Student Procedures, Rules and Policies section apply except as otherwise indicated in the rules for this course.

            Applicability of the Faculty general provisions for bachelor’s degrees

            8.2.5.2 The Faculty general provisions for bachelor’s degrees in 8.2.1 apply to the course for the Bachelor of Health Science honours degree.

            Admission

            8.2.5.3(1) To be considered for entry to the honours course applicants must—

            (a) have completed units in the Bachelor of Health Science course to the value of 192 points including HSMD3316 Health Industry Practicum, or equivalent as determined by the Faculty;

            and

            (b) have a weighted average of at least 65 per cent in—

            (i) the Level 3 units required for the chosen Science major; and

            (ii) the Level 3 units for the Public Health major.

            (2) Applicants must gain acceptance into an honours program and approval for their project from their proposed supervisor(s) and the school(s) involved.

            8.2.5.4 Applications are subject to the approval of the Admissions and Progress Committee on the recommendation of the Sub-Dean (Health Sciences).

            Course structure

            8.2.5.5(1) The course consists of all units in Table 8.2.5a (Bachelor of Health Science honours core units)—48 points.

            (2) Students may only complete honours in subject areas that form majors for the Bachelor of Health Science.
