Description

Digital transformation in the workplace is changing the way we communicate making effective workplace communication an

increasingly important skill. This unit helps students develop their speaking and writing skills for effective business communication with a focus on producing high-quality presentations and business documents. The unit also provides foundational study skills such as referencing, researching scholarly articles, and critical thinking.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) understand the fundamentals of effective business communications; (2) develop professional business documents relevant to the intended audience; (3) develop and deliver engaging business presentations; (4) critically appraise the many different sources of information; and (5) demonstrate an understanding of referencing skills, researching skills and critical thinking.

Assessment

Indicative assessments in this unit are as follows: (1) individual report; (2) quizzes; and (3) team presentation. Further information is available in the unit outline.



Student may be offered supplementary assessment in this unit if they meet the eligibility criteria.
