Unit Overview
- Description
Students with a WAM of 75% or above, may enrol into the Research Dissertation units to obtain a graded honours. The Research Dissertation unit runs over two semesters, Part A in semester 1 and Part B in semester 2.
By fine-tuning skills in critical thinking, problem-solving and data analysis, honours study can add value in a multitude of nursing career pathways. Undertaking honours provides students with opportunities to further develop and demonstrate their research knowledge and skills aligned to an area of nursing practice they are specifically interested in. The graded honours component involves refining a proposal (developed in the Research Skills unit), and submission for ethics approval to the appropriate human research ethics committees. Students will then undertake the research project, leading to the preparation of an independently examined academic dissertation. The graded honours is designed to foster students' development as skilled academic achievers and research professionals.

Indicative assessments in this unit are as follows: (1) e-portfolio assessment tasks and (2) end of semester viva. Further information is available in the unit outline.
This unit is assessed on an ungraded pass/ungraded failed basis. All assessment items must be successfully completed.Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit.

100% Online Unit. NO campus face-to-face attendance is required to complete this unit. All study requirements are online only. Unit is asynchronous delivery, with NO requirement for students to participate online at specific times.

100% Online Unit. NO campus face-to-face attendance is required to complete this unit. All study requirements are online only. Unit includes some synchronous components, with a requirement for students to participate online at specific times.
Online Restricted
Not available for self-enrolment. Students access this mode by contacting their student office through AskUWA. 100% Online Unit.
NO campus face-to-face attendance. All study and assessment requirements are online only. Unit includes some timetabled activities, with a requirement for students to participate online at specific times. In exceptional cases (noted in the Handbook) students may be required to participate in face-to-face laboratory classes when a return to UWA’s Crawley campus becomes possible in order to be awarded a final grade.
External
No attendance or regular contact is required, and all study requirements are completed either via correspondence and/or online submission.
Off-campus
Regular attendance is not required, but student attends the institution face to face on an agreed schedule for purposes of supervision and/or instruction.
