            Applicability of the Student Rules, policies and procedures

            3.3.4.1(1) The Student Rules apply to students in this course.

            (2) The policy, policy statements and guidance documents and student procedures apply, except as otherwise indicated in the rules for this course.

            3.3.4.2 Rescinded

            Admission

            3.3.4.3(1) Subject to (2), the Faculty may accept into the diploma course an applicant who is enrolled in an undergraduate degree course of this University.

            (2) Unless the Faculty permits otherwise in exceptional academic circumstances, students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (10110), Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies), Bachelor of Arts (European Studies), Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies), Bachelor of Letters or a combined course are not permitted to enrol concurrently in the diploma course.

            Course structure

            3.3.4.4(1) In addition to the requirements of the concurrent undergraduate degree, students must complete units to a total value of 48 points comprising—

            (a) Level 1 units to a total value of 12 points in Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian or Japanese language chosen from those listed in Table 3.2.2a (Bachelor of Arts options);

            and

            (b) Level 2 units to a total value of 18 points in the chosen language from those listed in Table 3.2.2a (Bachelor of Arts options);

            and

            (c) Level 3 units to a total value of 18 points in the chosen language from those listed in Table 3.2.2a (Bachelor of Arts options).

            (2) Students may substitute an in-country (24 points) or field (12 points) language study unit for Level 2 or 3 units of equivalent value.
