Honours Overview
- Description
Honours in Gender Studies will deepen and broaden interdisciplinary understandings of contemporary theories of gender, sexuality, and feminist thought through independent research combined with an interdisciplinary coursework program spanning the Humanities and Social Sciences. It expands the specialist knowledge gained through the Gender Studies major and develops advanced level skills in research, writing and critical thinking.
The research component comprises 50% of the final grade, in which students write a dissertation of between 12000-15000 words on a topic they develop with guidance provided by an academic supervisor. The 4 seminar units aim to mentor students as active participants in an interdisciplinary research culture.
