Unit Overview

Description

This language unit is designed for students who have completed FREN2404 French Studies 4. Students develop proficiency in spoken and written French and deepen their understanding of French and francophone society and culture. The unit will help students towards attaining Level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This unit leads to FREN3406 French Studies 6.

Outcomes

Students are able to (1) demonstrate reading and writing skills in French; (2) demonstrate fluency and accuracy in speaking French; (3) read and interpret a variety of print and audio-visual texts in French; (4) apply understanding of the structures and use of the English language and how language works in general; and (5) show interpersonal communication skills in French and in English.

Assessment

Indicative assessments in this unit are as follows: (1) online quizzes; (2) in-class tests; and (3) participation. Further information is available in the unit outline.



Student may be offered supplementary assessment in this unit if they meet the eligibility criteria.
