Note: (1) This course is only available to re-enrolling students.

(2) Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Science combined course (51170) should refer to the 2004 Rules.

(3) Choice of units must be approved by the Faculties.

(4) A student who, as a result of successive failures in a unit, is not permitted to re-enrol in that unit, or in further units in the same subject, in accordance with University Policy and Faculty of Science Rule 9.2.2.7, may not be able to continue in the combined course.

(5) The Bachelor of Science component of this course is derived from the Bachelor of Science (50110) course.

Applicability of the general provisions

11.1.39.1 The general provisions in 11.1.1 apply to the course.

Course structure

11.1.39.2 The combined course for the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science consists of units to a total value of 216 to 228 points, dependent on the majors selected, comprising—

(a) a Bachelor of Commerce component to the value of 102 to 108 points;

and

(b) a Bachelor of Science component to the value of 102 to 108 points;

and

(c) mathematics units common to both components to the value of 12 points.

11.1.39.3 All students must complete one unit from Group A and one unit from Group B:

¹ A mark of at least 70 per cent in MATH1050 Introductory Calculus is required for progression to STAT1520 Economic and Business Statistics.

Bachelor of Commerce component

11.1.39.4 The Bachelor of Commerce component consists of units to a total value of 102 to 108 points comprising—

(a) Level 1 units to the value of 18 to 36 points including—

(i)

and

(ii) Level 1 units to make up an overall total of 18 to 36 points from Level 1 units, chosen from Group B in Table 4.2.4b (Bachelor of Commerce Level 1 options) in the UWA Business School Rules or from other Level 1 units offered within the University;

and

(b) Level 2 and 3 units to the value of 66 to 90 points from Table 4.2.2u (Level 2 and 3 units offered by the Faculty) in the UWA Business School Rules or from other Level 2 and 3 units offered within the University which must include the requirements of at least one of the majors set out in UWA Business School Rules 4.2.4.10 to 4.2.4.21A.

Bachelor of Science component

11.1.39.5(1) The Bachelor of Science component consists of units to a total value of 102 to 108 points comprising—

(a) Level 1 units to the value of at least 24 points and not more than 36 points chosen in consultation with a Faculty Adviser that could lead to at least three majors in Faculty of Science Rule 9.2.6.2;

and

(b) Level 2 units to the value of 24 to 48 points from at least two Science subject areas, chosen from the units in Table 9.2.2a [Recognised units for the Bachelor of Science (50110)] in the Faculty of Science Rules and leading to at least one of the majors in Faculty of Science Rule 9.2.6.2;

and

(c) subject to (2), Level 3 units to the value of 24 to 48 points chosen from Table 9.2.2a [Recognised units for the Bachelor of Science (50110)] leading to completion of at least one of the majors in Faculty of Science Rule 9.2.6.2.

(2) In the case of a major in Anthropology, Archaeology or Linguistics, the required number of Level 3 units may be replaced by Level 2 units to a maximum value of 66 points in any of those subject areas.

Credit

11.1.39.6 If credit is granted towards the combined course for units passed through Continuing Education, it will not exceed 24 points.
